Great charger for the casual gamer. January 25, 2010 J. Nguyen (Stockton, CA) Once in awhile my gf and I have company over and we always end up playing the Wii. I grew tired of having to constantly replace batteries (or not have any around) for the controllers so I bought this charger. I've used other chargers in the past and by far this is one of the best I've had.
The package comes with 4 different colored straps which makes identifying controllers 1-4 much easier. The base is a little large, but its small enough to fit beside my tv and wii, be out of the way of everything else, and still be easy to access. The only qualm I really have with the charger is that it flashes a rather bright blue LED light when its plugged in, but I got around that issue by lightly unplugging the cord to the charger so that its still in it, but doesn't have enough contact to feed it energy. The charger indicators aren't precise, but they do give you a good estimate of how much battery life you've got left. The batteries hold a lot more power than I originally thought they would (i had about 20% remaining after 6 hours of gameplay and 2 hours of idle time).
To those complaining about not being able to charge with the straps on, I haven't had any problems with this. When I put my Wii remote in the charger, I place it so that the strap is coming out from the front. It charges perfectly when doing it this way, but doesn't charge well at all if you move it any other way (i.e. back/side).
A must have for your WII January 21, 2010 Nichole Wilde (Western USA) The batteries last for 6-7 hours of constant play. It looks good and does a good job. Well worth the money.
batteries aren't good January 9, 2010 T. Martin 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
great idea, we need a nice 4-way charger, but the batteries that came with it are spotty. two of them didn't work right out of the box and so far customer service has not responded to my email inquiry and its been at least a week.
Only worked for a few months December 28, 2009 Christopher (Minneapolis, MN) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
When they worked, they were fine. The batteries seemed to hold a charge for a really long time. But after using them only a few times in a few months, suddenly all the battery packs started exhibiting a spotty working behavior. What I mean is, even though they were fully charged, the controller would suddenly turn off without warning, in the middle of gameplay. It would then immediately turn back on, but every few minutes, it would cut out again, usually killing me wherever I was in my game (and as you can imagine, frustrating the bejeezus out of me!). I tried a few different wiimotes, and it was the same on all of them, and it was with all 4 battery packs. I had to switch back to my regular AA rechargeables, which work perfectly; they just don't have the convenience of charging through the wiimote. But at least they work consistently. I would not recommend these to anyone! I wish I could send mine back! Save your money and invest in regular AA Rechargeables.
